The Institute promotes doctoral programs and scientific reseaches in the demo-ethno-anthropological and ethno-linguistic fields.

Besides, more comparative historical and anthropological studies are developed with a particular focus on classical Greek civilization, the civilization of Meso-American civilization and Indian civilization.

The institute, always attentive to the scientific dialogue with other knowledge, constantly cooperates with the Institute of Criminology ad Security Sciences and with the Institute of Research in Psychiatry and Quantitative and Evolutionary Cardiology “Paolo Sotgiu”, above all in studies concerning the consciousness between nature and culture.
